This week
- Tuesday 6:00 pm: Interval session with Andy, Alice, and Rowan outside Freyberg Pool. This week’s session is 500m reps at different paces.
- Saturday 8:00 am: Parkruns at Waitangi, Lower Hutt, Ara Harakeke, Trentham, Kāpiti, Otāki River and Greytown.
- Saturday 3:00pm: Pō whakamoemiti for Dougal Thorburn, Lower Hutt Town Hall, 32 Laings Road
- Cancellation of club run. We had planned a pre-relays club run for the afternoon of Saturday 21 September at Wilton Bowling Club. Dougal Thorburn’s memorial service will be held at that time. In addition, many club runners will run that morning at the park run in his memory. Accordingly, we have decided to cancel the afternoon club run. I (Simon) apologise to everyone who is inconvenienced, but it seems like the best decision in the circumstances.
- Sunday 8:30am: Honest Ten, Outside Freyberg Pool, Oriental Bay
If you want your event added to this list, contact us by Sunday evening.

Wellington 10,000 Festival, 16 Nov
NZ’s biggest 10,000m running event.
The Wellington 10000m Festival is the most popular 10000m race in New Zealand. For five years, the 10000m Festival has been a night of PBs for runners of all speeds – 40 percent of runners finished with a new best time. We even had a world record! This year, packs and pacers will be running at many different speeds to drag you to your new PB.
Lifestyle Sports Night of Miles, 14 Dec
This unique event is full of Christmas fun and features races over the rarely run distance of one mile. Each year, we collect donations from athletes and spectators and hand them on to a local Wellington charity. For the competitive events in the programme where pre-entry is required, we have set a $10 entry fee that will be part of the donations.
The programme includes a mix of children’s, senior and fun social events. There are several different mile races, including elite men’s and women’s races and an all-comers mile that anyone can participate in (including Father Christmas). Subject to interest, some field events may be added to the programme.
