J-Team wraps up the season at Karori Park
The J-Team had their final pack run of the season at Karori Park, and what a way to finish! We had a great turnout (though we missed Abby, Lily, and Finn), and the afternoon was packed with fun: running games, Vortex throws, and a classic lolly scramble. We finished with was a four-person relay showdown around the park, with Team Naomi taking the win after a few exciting lead changes. We wrapped things up a Scottish themed cake and chocolate milk — the perfect end to a great season. From all the coaches, a huge thank you to everyone who supported the J-Team this year. Special shout-out to the parents who braved more than a few wild weather days, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Notices
Do you want to learn to be a race official?
Athletics NZ is running an entry level officiating course at Newtown Park on 23 November from 10am to 3pm.
They say: This is a great entry level course for helpers, parents, caregivers, athletes and coaches to attend, so they can get a better understanding of the rules around competitions at the different levels e.g. Club nights, Interclub and Colgate Games. There is no requirement to officiate at meets after the course, we want all our volunteers to have a better understanding of the basic rules and an opportunity to ask questions about the rules. Should you wish to start officiating we can guide you in the process to begin your officiating journey.
Presented by Eddie Soria and Sheelagh Prosser, Athletics New Zealand Officials Educators, this free course includes:
- Safeguarding
- An introduction to track and field
- A walk around the track to discuss the various markings and events
- Open book assessment
