Dan Jones won his third Tarawera Ultra in a row, breaking his own course record.

  • 102km: Daniel Jones 07:17:42 (1st), Michael Cummins 13:40:55 (1st M65), Emily Solsberg 16:13:16.
  • 51km: Ryan Woolley 3:43:59 (1st M35), Karen Jenkinson 7:40:40.

Joe Martin represented Scottish in Auckland in the 1500m race. Joe finished 10th in a new PB of 3:49.08. This was a new Athletics Wellington M17 record. The previous record of 3:49.82 was set by Philip Starr in 1992…

Porritt Classic

…and then Joe Martin battered 3 seconds off his PB to come second at the Porritt Classic in 3:46.03. Another new Athletics Wellington M17 record.

New Zealand Short Course Trail Running Champs Dunedin, 30 March

The 3 Peaks Mountain Race in Dunedin on 30 March 2025 is an endurance trail run organised by Leith Harrier & Athletic Club. Named after the three peaks of Flagstaff (668m), Swampy (739m) and Mt Cargill (676m), the 26km event takes runners and walkers up and along some of Dunedin’s most beautiful trails through lush native bush and forestry where they are rewarded with stunning panoramic views.

The Christchurch Marathon, a staple in New Zealand’s running community, was established in 1981. The course is as flat as you will find anywhere, perfect for setting a PB or for taking it easy with friends and enjoying the electric atmosphere.

Cardrona Climb 2025 Incorporating the NZ Vertical Mountain Championships, 25 April

The views and the vert on offer will be equally breathtaking as the NZ Mountain Running Championships takes over the domain of skiers and snowboarders, the Cardrona Alpine Resort. With Wanaka’s iconic alpine landscape as the backdrop, and over 1000m of climbing over 8km on offer this is an event that will be hard to miss.

Rotorua Marathon (NZ Masters Marathon Champs), 3 May

With a refreshed start and a stunning new finish line right beside the Novotel, the Red Stag full marathon offers an unforgettable journey through Rotorua’s scenic beauty. The half marathon starts by the beautiful Okere Falls before following part of the full marathon’s route. The new Go Media 12km introduces an all-new course starting at Te Puia, where participants will journey through the iconic Pohutu Geyser to the Rotorua lakefront finish. The 5km also unveils a brand-new route, taking runners through the breathtaking sulphur flats.
