  • Friday 12.27 pm, Kupe Run: a chatty pre-weekend run from the Kupe statue on the waterfront
  • Saturday 8 am Parkruns at: WaitangiLower HuttAra HarakekeTrenthamKāpiti and Greytown
  • Saturday 2pm: Summer Saturday afternoon run and walk that will suit those who prefer a slower pace. Meet outside the Arcimboldi in Dundas St Seatoun ready to go at 2pm. We expect to be out for about 1-2 hours. 
  • Sunday long pack runs: usually these leave at 8.30 am from outside Freyberg Pool and some alternative locations around Wellington. Contact our club captains, Emma and Bert, or check Facebook for details.

Twilight Track Races, Newtown Park: November to February

Get involved in a series of fun, friendly, informal midweek track meetings at Newtown Park, run by Wellington Scottish and Athletics Wellington. These races are open to anyone who is a registered Athletics Wellington Member. It’s a supportive environment and newcomers to track are really welcome 

There will be four or five events per meet – a couple of sprints (100m,200m), one or two middle distance (600m to 1500m) and a 3000m or 5000m. The first event is 6.30pm (finished by 7.30pm). 

We’re are always looking for volunteers to help with entries, starting duties and post event pack down.

  • $8 entry fee per meet
  • Entries close at midday on the day of the event – no late entries permitted.

Ian Priest Memorial Hutt River Trail event: Saturday 13 January

The Ian Priest Memorial Hutt River Trail event on 13 January 2024 is an annual 60km Ultra Marathon, Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km.

Run or walk an off-road Ultramarathon, Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km, following the course from Cross Creek in the Wairarapa, over the Rail Trail, tracing the Hutt River trail, from the foothills of the Rimutaka Mountains at Kaitoke to the river’s estuary at McEwan Park on the shores of Wellington Harbour.

Jumbo Holdsworth and Hooper Loop Trail Races, Mt Holdsworth: Saturday 27 January

The Jumbo Holdsworth Trail Race & Hooper Loop are trail runs over tracks and hills in the Tararua Forest Park on 27 January 2024.

Southern Cross Wellington Round the Bays: Sunday 18 February

Southern Cross Round the Bays Wellington registrations are open, with the following categories: 5.5km (including buggy walk and active families), 10km and half marathon. You can use the Scottish discount code, SCOTTISH10, when you register (for 10% off the entry fee). We’ll also be doing a call out for volunteer paces so keep an eye out.

Nuku Ora is also on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to take care of their runners and fill a variety of roles. Some of these roles include bib allocation, pre-event set-up, marshals, traffic management, and handing out water, food, medals, and more! There is an opportunity for Wellington Scottish to volunteer collectively and raise funds, as Nuku Ora offers a small donation per volunteer group. End of year celebration and prizegiving: Sunday 25 February

Mark your calendars: from 3-6pm will be our end of year celebration and prizegiving. This year we’ll be switching things up and heading to Wilton Bowling Club. More details to come!
