  • Sunday long pack runs: usually these leave at 8.30 am from outside Freyberg Pool and some alternative locations around Wellington. Contact our club captains, Emma and Bert, or check Facebook for details.
  • Sunday Kapiti Running Festival, Paraparaumu Beach: includes a 21km half marathon, 10km, 5km plus a kids’ 2km. Details and entry

Waterfront 5km race #2

51 keen runners embraced the Halloween spirit (and the sun) on Tuesday evening. Ben Twyman was first home in 16:09, with Bert Prendergast following closely in 16:40 and Kristian Day was fifth in 18.01. Genevieve Coffey was the first woman home in 19.11, Ruby Muir second in 19.57 and Fiona Hayvice third in 21.20. Check out all the other great Scottish results.

Scottish branded clothing – two days left to order!

Scottish running singlets are (generally) kept in stock, however other Scottish clothing is limited to ‘on order’ only (up to twice a year). Get your orders in by Wednesday 8 November for a December delivery and wear yellow this summer season. ☀️

Twilight Track Races, Newtown Park: 15 November 2023-28 February 2024

Get involved in a series of fun, friendly, informal midweek track meetings at Newtown Park, run by Wellington Scottish and Athletics Wellington. These races are open to anyone who is a registered Athletics Wellington Member. It’s a supportive environment and newcomers to track are really welcome 😊

There will be four or five events per meet – a couple of sprints (100m,200m), one or two middle distance (600m to 1500m) and a 3000m or 5000m. The first event is 6.30pm (finished by 7.30pm).

We’re are always looking for volunteers to help with entries, starting duties and post event pack down.

Entry Information

  • $8 entry fee per meet
  • Entries close at midday on the day of the event – no late entries permitted.

First event Wednesday 15 November

6.30pm: 100m
6.40pm: 3000m
7.00pm: 200m
7.15pm: 1500m
7.30pm: 400m

The Agency Group 10000m Festival and NZ Championship, 18 November

Entries are now open for the this popular annual 10,000m event at Newtown Park.

Scottish Night of Miles, Newtown Park Track: Saturday 16 December

Save the date for this year’s Night of Miles. The event will have all the usual festivities (yes, that includes Santa of course). This year we’ll be supporting the Porirua chapter of Trailblazers that provides kids with mentors/gear and other support to get out and enjoy running. Stay tuned for more details.
