With club runs every weekend, our members are some of the best guides if you are looking to explore Wellington’s many walking and running trails. Wellington Scottish members are regular attendees at local Xterra races, the Tarawera Ultra Marathon in Rotorua, and the Kepler Challenge.
Club members feature prominently in the trail running scene both in New Zealand and internationally. After placing third at the 2015 Kepler Challenge, Sam McCutcheon has gone on to win the Ultra Easy 100 in New Zealand and the Buffalo Stampede in Australia as part of the Skyrunning Series. Fiona Hayvice who also came third at the 2015 Kepler Challenge was the 2016 winner of the Tarawera Ultra 100km and has represented New Zealand at the IAU Trail World Championships.
A love of hills and trail running has seen a number of members win Athletics New Zealand Mountain Running titles and go on to represent New Zealand at the World Mountain Running Championships. Two time World Mountain running champion Melissa Moon has inspired many of our members to take their running off-road, and aim for the top!
