The Scottish Supporters Trust provides financial support to assist top athletes to achieve their goals. The Trust’s main priority is to help better performing athletes compete in national and selected overseas events without finance being a constraint. Assistance to New Zealand championships is usually provided by way of performance incentives, with top placings usually resulting in the full cost of travel being met. The Trust also offers Athletic Scholarships to emerging athletes, as the Trustees believe that this will help sustain senior ranks with top-performing athletes in the future.
Recent recipients of significant funding include:
Hamish Carson – 2016 Olympian, NZ 1500m champion 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016; NZ 3000m champion 2011, 2017; NZ Half Marathon champion 2013
