The Scottish Night of Miles is an annual track and field meet event held just before Christmas.  We have been organising it for twenty years. Each year we collect donations from athletes and spectators then hand them on to a local Wellington charity. This year we are collecting for the Neonatal Trust which helps families at the time of birth.

The programme consists of a mix of children's, senior and junior races, fun social events and serious 'elite' races. The highlights are the mile races which are only rarely raced these days.  There are several different mile races including an elite men's and women's races and an all-comers mile that anyone can participate in (including Father Christmas).

This year we will have a BBQ that people can cook food on. We are also introducing a relay into the programme for people to try. Unlike most track meets people do not need to be registered with a club to participate in the programme shown overleaf. Non-club unregistered athletes are very welcome.

Register online by 8pm Thursday 17th December.  There is no requirement to indicate the events you are entering, you are registering your attendance only.  You must then report to the registration desk from 4pm on the day at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your event to receive your competition number on your hand and pay your $5 entry fee.  You can also register a late entry “on the day” at least 60 minutes before the scheduled start time for each event. “On the day” late entry fee is $10 per athlete. WARNING!  Do not turn up after that time and expect to get your entry accepted!  Results will be published on the Athletics Wellington website after the event.  The club bulk funding for entry fees does NOT apply today. No number on your hand means no start.

CHILDREN (under 7 yrs) and JUNIOR ATHLETES (7 yrs and up to and including intermediate age) Races are entered at the start line 10 minutes before the start of your event.  If you have a Colgate age patch please wear it. Results for children and junior athletes will be displayed on the window during the evening.  Children and Junior athletes do not need to pay unless they and their families would like to donate to the Neonatal Trust.  IF YOU ARE A JUNIOR ATHLETE AND INTEND RUNNING IN THE SCOTTISH ALL-COMERS MILE, PLEASE REGISTER ONLINE AS PER ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS.

Once you have completed the entry form you will receive an email to confirm your entry.  If you do not receive this please contact Karen McIlroy
