Over 100 at inaugural Bernie Portenski Memorial Cup

A great turnout yesterday with over 100 people taking part in one or more of the events. Big thanks to the nine clubs from all over Wellington who turned up to be a part of the inaugural Bernie Portenski Cup, as well as many friends and fans of Bernie Portenski. 

This year's winner is Isobel Franklin from Hutt Valley Harriers.

She finished in 56:01 to beat her handicapped time by 3 mins 29 seconds. 

Daniel Headifen from Kapiti Harriers completed the course in 43:57 to finish second, 3.03 ahead of handicapped time and Peter Sparks from Hutt Valley Harriers finished third, 2.31 ahead of handicap in 47.29.

Fastest woman overall was Deb Lynch from the Tri Club in 38.25. Stephen Day was the fastest male finishing in 32:31.
