Well, that was a huge start for the season - we had 142 keen runners, walkers (& bubbas) out on course tonight, much bigger than we were expected - and shocking when we she the sign in line stretching 30 metres away from the tables! Was great to see, just a little daunting to cope with in a timely manner. We apologise for the delayed start, due to this unexpected volume.
For those who pre-registered & paid online, thank you! I hope that process was as quick and easy for you as it was for us. Hopefully after the mad rush of everyone signing up for the first time tonight, the registration process will be a little quicker and easy from next week (less first-timers needing to register and collect bibs from now on!) - We have a couple of ideas on how to clean up that registration (hopefully some will be implemented by next week)
First up Congrats to everyone, tonight you achieved a season PB for the Waterfront 5k (probably because it was the first event) - but now you have a goal to bet as the weather improves
Top three Men on course tonight were Dan Hunt (in 17: 42) ahead of Simon Wills & Matt Winthrop.
On the ladies side tonight top three were Sarah Bonoma (in 19:34) followed by Ange Penberthy, and Melissa Beeler.
The first walker home was Sean Lake in 29:09 and Jacqueline Wilson was the first Women walker home in 31:41.
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer
A big thanks to the Management team from the Scottish Athletics s for the help last night, they will be back again next week and are promising they will be on top of the registration lines much better then.
Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (email@example.com)
