Sunday long run - Wellington Marathon training

Event date: 21/05/2017 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM Export event

We're doing a long run four weeks out from the Wellington Marathon, starting at Freyberg Pool at 8.30am.

There will be various pace options no matter what your fitness level is, anywhere from 7min to 4mins and with run times ranging from an hour to upwards of two hours.

We always meet for coffee afterwards so bring a few dollars or your EFTPOS card and any burning questions you have about running.

Come along if you'd like company on your long training run, to find new trails, and meet people, everyone is welcome!

University Relays and Chocolate Walk

The next interclub relay is on Saturday 6 May 2017 at Queen Elizabeth Park (Mackays Crossing entrance) in Paekakariki. The event begins with the Chocolate Walk at noon, children's races (U15, U13, U11, U9 races and a U7 fun run) from 1.15 pm and the main relay starting at 2.50 pm.

Inter-College Cross Country Relays

Results of 40th Wellington Scottish Inter College Cross Country Relays held at Karori Park on Wednesday 10 May 2017 are below.

This year these annual events attracted 75 teams and 387 competitors from 17 colleges, including two teams from Palmerston North. 

The relays are organised by Don Dalgliesh and the Wellington Scottish Athletic Club

The Vosseler Shield

Goodbye balmy autumnal days of April - it's time for some truly testing cross country running.  The Vosseler Shield, on 20 May, is described by some as the hardest cross country race in New Zealand.  So, once you've run this race, the rest of the season will feel easy!

Ballantyne Cup, 3 June 2017

Competitors can run or walk either 1, 2 or 3 laps of the stopbanks and bridges. Simply choose your number of laps by finishing after 1, 2 or 3 laps. Places cards will be handed out at the finish, and have your name recorded and how many laps you did.
